Tutorial Question

Once in a while I go through the massive post editor to remove old and redundant posts - and now I just so happened to have accidentally selected the last post along with it, which was an important anon ask :|

@ the anon who asked about the WoW conversion tutorial;

In short: I might consider making a brief overview in the near future to show my way of extracting WoW models (which requires you to have the game installed, so yes purchased, and you need WoW Model Viewer). Though, there are already a couple of tutorials showing how to convert models from other games to sims 4, so perhaps you’ll be able to achieve what you want through these tutorials as those helped me to get started~

A little insight: when you open WMV (wowmodelviewer) you export the file as either FBX or OBJ. For me FBX worked best when editing models in 3ds max. If you import it directly into blender then the OBJ file may be fine too (you can experiment with what works for you). From there on you start editing the model (size, uvw, etc.) to your liking. If you don’t know how to edit meshes in blender then there are plenty of tutorials explaining the basics of this on Sims 4 Studio.

I also recommend checking out this amazingly organized tutorial page set up by simlaughlove ♥

Lastly, these tutorials helped me enormously when I first started out with converting models:

The most important part of this entire process (actually every time when you try something new that you’ve never done before) is to be patient and give yourself time to learn. Don’t give up if it doesn’t work out at the first try, or perhaps even at the 10th try. If you truly want this then you will eventually succeed, trust me ♥

A big thanks to all those fantastically amazing people for their helpful tutorials ♥
